Ginger Biscuits

Seeing as it's nearly Christmas I tried out these slightly spiced Ginger Biscuits by Nigel Slater, which I think I will definitely be making again. Moomins, elephants, rabbits, stars and hearts.

I'm a fan of Things Organised Neatly so have organised all the ceramics I made on my evening course neatly. I just realised that one pinch pot is missing from this picture...

Drop Platter

Press molded drop platter - blue and white slip on smooth clay with pearl glaze (part double dipped)

Coil Pot

This pot didn't turn out the way I wanted but I can live with it. I know not to remove glaze whilst having the pot on my lap... Sherry Green glaze, white ship, pugmill clay.

Craft craft clay, blue and white slip, jade glaze.

Open 2012 - Peckham Space

I have a new embroidery on display at Peckham Space's Open 2012, which opens on Friday 30th November 2012 from 6pm to 8pm. The exhibition will be on display until Thursday 20th December 2012 during the gallery's opening hours.

Reena Makwana - Shop

I've opened a shop where you can buy Penguin Christmas Cards and Heygate Ladies Tote Bags. I will be selling some small embroideries on there at some point too and a few other products as they are developed.

Heygate Ladies Tote Bag

These digitally printed 100% cotton bags of 'Heygate Ladies' arrived at my house about twenty minutes ago. I'll be selling these at the Nest Gallery Christmas Fair at the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs for £10. Currently a limited edition of 25.

South London Tripstitch

A little look at my work installed at the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs . You'll have to go to have a proper look - beautiful work from Alison Mure, Amber James of BAM, Anna Lincoln, Chloe Bonfield, Rhea Evers and Rosie Walder too. Each embroidery is displayed in a custom made frame with UVAR glass made by Lou and Simon at Peckham Pictures - peckhampictures@gmail.com.

The Great Outdoors - opens next week

It's almost here - 'The Great Outdoors' exhibition opens at the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs on Thursday 8th November 2012 at 6.30pm and features work from Alison Mure, Amber James, Anna Lincoln, Chloe Bonfield, Rhea Evers, Rosie Walder and myself. I still have so much to learn about the slip and glaze combination to stop things going brown. Crater and Pearl/Dolomite glaze.

Probably going to have to practice making these a bit more. Chrome Pink and Pearl Glazed on Craft Crank, Shiny Yellow Glaze on Craft Crank and a Crackle glaze on Smooth White Clay.
