Marcel Dzama - Puppets, Pawns, and Prophets

Finally made it over to the Marcel Dzama 'Puppets, Pawns and Prophets' show at David Zwirner Gallery. Covering two floors, this satisfying exhibition shows Dzama's characters painted in watercolour, shaped into sculptures and brought to life on film. The Game of Chess features heavily, the contrasting sides pitted against each other. I think this easily the best exhibition I've seen this year.

Manchester/Haworth/Liverpool

Went to the Bronte Parsonage Museum at Haworth with the crows crowing ahead. I saw the sofa were Emily Bronte reportedly died. On Sunday we went to Liverpool to see 'The Art of Pop Video' at FACT and Emily and Anne flew a kite in Sefton. Got lots of ideas for new embroideries and linos...
