Words and Pictures
I illustrated the cover of 'Ovarium' by Joanna Ingram, published by The Emma Press and available here. The cover was inspired by ovary tissue under a microscope.
I drew a selection of favourites for Sharanya Deepak's 'Indian Biscuits 1947–2022', which details the story of India through the production of five biscuits: Parle G, Milk Bilkis, Karachi Bakery's Fruit Biscuit, Hide N Seek and Little Hearts. You can read the newsletter here.
XCity Magazine included two of my Vittles illustrations (Iranian supermarket food and mangoes) to accompany Jonathan Nunn's interview about Vittles in the 2022 edition.
I illustrated ten specific crisp packet designs for a piece by Theo Inglis for the new issue of Pit Magazine, which explores the wonderful world of potatoes. Thanks to Holly Catford for this very fun brief! Buy a copy to see the rest!
'The Fox's Wedding', a collection of poems by Rebecca Hurst is available to preorder from 'The Emma Press' webshop. You can join the launch for the pamphlet on Zoom on Friday 11th March 2022 at 7pm (you can RSVP on the website)
I worked with Emma to create the cover illustration and six interior illustrations for Rebecca's book, where she uses the space of fairytales to explore themes of voice, concealment and transformation. The cover features shadowy glimpses of foxes through brambles, honeysuckle, apple and rowan trees, printed in riso in green and black at The Holodeck, Birmingham.
