My Friend's House

LOIS got a mention on My Friend's House, along with Elise Menghini, Garudio Studiage, Pen & Gravy and myself. Some nice words about my work. I'm making a set of 5 postcards of embroidered South London scenes for the £3 Christmas Bazaar which Nest Gallery will be taking part in, along with selling zines and some stamped celadon ceramic coasters. Mudlarking in Greenwich

Went mudlarking last weekend - found mainly a lot of blue patterned pieces, a transfer face and the second from the top has a nice pattern on but I've got no idea when it's from. Think these patterned pieces will inspire an embroidery.

Bonfire Night is over, so I think it's almost appropriate to mention C********. I'm selling packs of four cards on my Etsy, left blank for your own message. New Ceramics

Using the reactive glaze - did the Dachshund on ceramic and a stripey rabbit. I've made a plate for a very special occasion in a month's time, so holding that back.

Halloween Ghosts

I'm feeling festive for Halloween. A sheet over the head seems like a good option. Either that or No Face.

LOIS

LOIS is a new shop in Peckham selling handcrafted items made by designers, makers and artists working in the UK. Last night was the opening. Lots of talented designers involved, so I was really pleased to have been chosen to have my cards, zines and tote stocked there!

Deptford High Street drawings

I've uploaded the drawings I did for my residency at Utrophia in April - just in case I didn't get enough stories to work with. I did, but the drawings were still great to do to get a sense of the area on a weekend. You can see the drawings on my website

Mudlarking on the Thames

Finds from the River Thames (the bottom picture shows Danny's finds). Salt glaze on the speckled brown pieces, English slipware on the brown wavy piece and Victorian transfers on the coloured pieces.

Imprint - Craft Central

Above are some pictures from Craft Central's Imprint exhibition which was part of the London Design Festival. There was a range of print-making on show from a variety of artists who use print in their practice. I had a few pieces on show in the foyer section of the show, detailing the process of producing a lino cut ceramic piece.I showed pieces from a view in Altrincham, a view in Bologna and a view in Haworth.

I invigilated the show and loved Kethi Copeland's London-inspired prints on paper and furniture, Regina Heinz's meticulous wall ceramics, colourful prints from Katherina Manolessou and Hannah Victoria Locker and Annabel Williams' printed and engraved hangings.
